12 Days of Christmas: Chocolate Covered Pretzels
One of my favorite traditions growing up was making chocolate covered pretzels as Christmas approached. We would make them each winter, and they're one of my favorite holiday snacks. So, I've decided to share my recipe today, in the hopes that other people will enjoy them just as much. Besides being yummy, they're really easy to make.
-White baking chocolate
-Additional toppings (sprinkles, dark chocolate, nuts, cinnamon, ect.)
This is pretty straightforward. Melt your white chocolate. It's best to do it in a container that's not too wide because you need it to be deep enough to dip most of the pretzel in. Ramekins or small bowls are my preferred choices.
Dip your pretzels in the chocolate and then lay them out on wax paper till the chocolate has hardened. I only dip the pretzels about 2/3 of the way. If you want to dip them completely just dump them all in the chocolate and then pull them out with tongs.
As for toppings, they're almost all best sprinkled on while the chocolate is still wet. This is so that as the chocolate hardens, the topping will stay in place. The one exception is if you want to drizzle them with another type of chocolate. In this case, it's best to let the white chocolate harden. It gets messy if your working with two kinds of melted chocolate.
That's it! Mine turned out really good this time. Good luck with any holiday baking projects!
